  • How to put lights on a Christmas tree outside

    Once you've settled on the lights you want and measured the length you need, you can set about decking out your outdoor Christmas tree. There are a few bits you'll need before you get started, including a ladder for those hard-to-reach branches, tape or string and an outdoor extension cord if you're not opting for outdoor battery lights.

    Start by winding the lights up the tree's trunk, making sure the plug end is as close to the outlet as possible. If you want uniform spacing, you need a width of about four fingers between each light coil.

    Once you've made it to the branches, set up your ladder and run the lights up each tree limb in whatever pattern you fancy. Secure the end of the lights or any drooping sections with outdoor tape or string and you're ready to glow!

  • What other decorations are there for my outdoor Christmas tree?
