According to an article in the Mirror recently, it was reported that the Met Office has predicted a white Christmas for some parts of the UK this year! Although, invariably, the same thing is announced year after year, and yet we haven’t seen a truly snowy festive season since 2010. The Met Office’s definition of a ‘White Christmas’ is also ever so slightly tenuous, since it is declared as such, “if one snowflake is observed falling in the 24 hours of December 25 somewhere in the UK.” A surprising non-phenomenon which has happened a whopping 38 times in the last 54 years!
So, what do you think? Should the ‘experts’ keep on dreaming of that white Christmas, or could it actually be a reality this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, we’d love to hear them.
