Lighting a reception with soft tones is the preferred option as they are suitably understated yet can encourage a warm and calming effect. Light colours such as warm white and contemporary shades of pink are frequently popular as they are synonymous with romance and so are not ‘garish’ in any way. Small yet stylish battery lights can also be used to gently illuminate individual tables where guests are eating and socialising, while net and curtain lights can provide chic and glamorous backdrops for the many photographs which will be taken.
