The Fragrant Brilliance Of A Christmas Tree05th May @ 09:26 In his poem Animula, T.S. Eliot described the “fragrant brilliance of a Christmas tree” which is a particularly neat way to describe that peculiar magic that a Christmas tree affords. It no surprise then, that even long after Eliot wrote this poem, Christmas trees are still the centerpiece of our Yuletide experience – and are emblematic of everything that’s great about Christmas. So, how do you decorate your artificial Christmas trees to make them truly “brilliant”? Well luckily, where once decorating a Christmas tree involved a lot of ingenuity and expensive materials, in the modern context not only is it simple, but it's a lot of fun too. For example, Christmas baubles are cheap Christmas tree decorations, but highly effective and no self-respecting Christmas tree should be without them! Christmas baubles are also especially fit for purpose, as they have a tendency to reflect light, thereby bolstering the effect of the lights on artificial Christmas trees. Of course Christmas baubles are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to tree decorations, and if you want your tree to attain a truly classic Christmassy feel, then you should “branch out” to include other classic Christmas tree ornaments. For example, what Christmas tree would be complete without a fairy or angel sitting astride its peak? So, in conclusion, whilst a bare Christmas tree is a beautiful thing, it only reaches its true potential when it is decorated – which luckily, nowadays, is not too difficult at all.
