Solar lights – the easy way to light up your garden13th Mar @ 15:04 Solar lights are probably the most self-sufficient type of outdoor lights available. Once you have installed them, you just leave them to do their thing. You may need to give them a clean every now and again, as soil, dirt or rain may make them a little mucky, but there is no need to plug them in, recharge the batteries or take them inside when it gets a little wet.Because they take their power from the sun, via a solar panel attached to the light, the energy is replenished every day, with no effort from the owner. The sun’s power is soaked up into the solar panel, it is then converted into stored energy in a battery, which then turns it into electricity when either the light is switched on, or it detects that it has become dark. Some lights automatically switch on at dusk, giving you even less to do! This is really useful if your solar lights are path or driveway lights, and line the way to your door. They are also a great way to help the environment as it is a renewable energy source, and has no detrimental effects on the planet at all. Win-win situation. Categorised in: Solar Lights |
