Save energy by using LED lights15th Mar @ 16:29 LED lights use up less energy than incandescent bulbs, because 90% of their energy output is light. Incandescent bulbs are about 15%.Because of this, LEDs don’t get so hot, so are safer to have around, too. LEDs are used in lots of different lighting types, like standard lamps, car headlights and torches. Around the home they are used for decorative lighting more often than general lighting, and look great as outdoor lights. LEDs come in all sorts of different colours, and are very popular in fairy lights as they can be put up around Christmas trees, plants, windows and banisters. Using LED bulbs is only one way of saving energy though; there are plenty of other ways to do so: - Use solar powered LED lights outside - Only boil as much water in the kettle as you need - Switch lights off when you’re not using them - Turn the central heating off over summer, and down a little bit in the spring and autumn - Wash your clothes in full loads, not half loads - Recycle as much waste as you can - Turn off the tap if you aren’t using the water (like when brushing your teeth) Categorised in: Press Releases |
