Safety tips for setting up Halloween lighting

29th Sep @ 19:59 Distinctive lights add a touch of glamour to your house and surroundings. While using these lights one needs to be careful as any accident can ruin the complete festive mood. As the vast majority of lights use the mains electricity, precautionary measures become necessary. Here are few safety tips to follow:

Take care of where you place it

Placing these lights near places that are too hot or in close proximity to flammable substances can not only result into damage to the lights, but also lead to accidents like fire. If you use them anywhere near water or sources of water the possibilities of getting an electric shock are high too.

Ensure the sockets are used properly

The one mistake which individuals repeat and should be completely avoided is – overloading of sockets. Many a times, too many plugs are stuffed into one single socket. This can blow your fuse.

Using the nearest plug socket is also an important thing to consider. The wires used to manufacture string Halloween lights can be delicate hence you should avoid straining them. If no power supply is available close by, you can always use an extension lead and took the excess wire to one side or behind furniture.
