Make Mother’s Day special with pretty lighting12th Mar @ 11:01 If you are planning on cooking up a wonderful three course meal for your mum, why not add to the atmosphere with some decorative lighting?If your mum likes girly, pretty things, some pink handbag shaped fairy lights would brighten up her day. You could put them along the mantelpiece, or around the mirror. You could even put them around the window so she sees them when she gets in from work. Soft white fairy lights can look pretty special too, and can be draped over and around plants, as well as along the fireplace (not while the fire’s on!). You can even have twinkling fairy lights wrapped around the banister. LED tea lights are a pretty safe bet, as they can be put around on any surface, and won’t give you any hassle. They don’t get hot like normal tea lights, and are extremely unlikely to pose a fire risk. You can leave them unattended too, whilst you give the sauce a stir and make sure Take That are safely in the CD Player. A slightly more wacky idea –which she’s unlikely to expect – is a mirror ball. With a coloured spot light pointed at a mirror ball, you can have your dinner and a bit of a boogie afterwards. Categorised in: Lighting Advice |
