How To Decorate a Classic Christmas Tree02nd Sep @ 08:51 What we think of as a classic Christmas tree probably comes from the influence of Victorian times. People loved showing off by decorating elaborately, and sometimes expensively. But you can easily have a classic Christmas tree without spending a lot of money.First, choose the right tree. A classic Christmas tree is tall, five to seven feet is a good height, and bushy, but not too bushy. You don’t want the tree to take over the room. And you want a symmetrical tree. If your tree is asymmetrical, feel free to cut a few branches off, or shorten them, to make the tree look more even. An artificial Christmas tree can be easily customised to suit your household once bought, and you can then be guaranteed of having the perfect tree year after year. Next, you want to choose classic Christmas tree decorations. Tinsel and garlands are very traditional. But remember to go easy on the tinsel. A little bit goes a long way. Strands of red beads and popcorn chains are also classic, and very pretty against a the green of the tree boughs. Baubles are probably the most classic Christmas tree ornaments. English Christmas trees are still traditionally decorated with coloured glass baubles, and often little else. If you want to add a personal touch, and make your classic tree more personalised, consider making your own Victorian style Christmas ornaments. Use lots of ribbon, lace, and pearl beads.
