New LED festoon lights continue the look and glamour of filament lighting, but use LED technology which is far more energy efficient and more durable. LEDs do not need to be housed in thin glass, which is prone to breaking in transit, as they are usually surrounded by a plastic housing. They are also tested to run for up to 100,000 hours, where traditional glass bulbs will only last for a maximum of 10,000. There are also connectable festoon lights so that you can make a longer string.
