And if you miss that Christmassy pine smell, buy a scented candle or two. An artificial Christmas tree saves you money as well. 2. Purchase a prelit Christmas tree. This saves you the trouble of having to untangle and string the lights every year. Simply leave the lights on the tree, and fold the tree up as is. 3. Choose decorations that are not breakable. You can get plastic Christmas baubles that look just as nice as glass baubles, and you save the hassle of cleaning up broken glass, and no one gets upset if a plastic bauble actually does break or get lost. 4. Get your kids to hang up the decorations. If you would prefer to not decorate the tree, why not let the kids roam free with their creativity and decorate it for you?
