Decorating Your Tree – A Family Affair30th Aug @ 12:44 Christmas is a thrilling time of year for everyone, but especially children. Decorating a Christmas tree marks the beginning of the electrifying festive period, so why not involve the whole family? Children will love making their mark on the festive focal point of the home, and will love rooting through the collection of Christmas tree decorations you’ve built up over the years.Firstly, you will need to choose your tree. If you’re going to involve your children in the decoration, it’s probably best to go for an articial Christmas tree, and then there is no danger of them suffering allergies, or making things dirty with the tree sap. You should then hang your lights from your tree. Start by wrapping the lights around the trunk of the tree and move outward to the edge of the branches. Hanging lights can be fiddly though. If your children are going to be heavily involved in the Christmas tree decoration, then the more convenient option would be to opt for a pre lit Christmas tree. Next you should hang your tinsel and garlands. It’s best to start at the top and work your way down with this. You can involve your children by getting them to make and decorate their own garlands using chains of paper. Then you can add your own collection of Christmas tree ornaments and Christmas baubles. It’s probably best to get some cheap Christmas decorations for the children, in case there are any breakages. Then your tree is complete!
