Commercial lights - Four types of lights

Metal halides

Also known as high intensity discharge (HID) lighting, this type of commercial lighting is common in warehouses and factory settings. Metal halides consist of a pendant mounted on ceiling with lenses and bulbs of different sizes. They are capable of emitting bright light that can illuminate larger spaces.

Incandescent commercial lights

Incandescent commercial lights are one of the oldest kinds of commercial lights. These lights are used in desk lamps, recessed down lights among other fixtures. The drawback of using these lights is that they have a short lifespan. They are widely used in commercial places as they have low upfront costs and are readily available. Incandescent commercial lights produce light similar to natural sunlight and hence they are a popular choice.

Halogen commercial lights

Halogen commercial lights are used outdoors for commercial purposes. They are used in sports stadiums and other outdoor events. They are used for safety and security purposes, such as flood lights. Halogen commercial lights are capable of producing an intense light. Small sized halogen bulbs are used as spotlights in retail stores to highlight specific areas of the store.

Fluorescent commercial lights

Fluorescent commercial lights are most commonly used in commercial places. They are fixed to the ceiling in a suspended manner. The basic fluorescent lights contain one to four long bulbs depending on how much light is required in the building.
